Easter traditions

Easter traditions in Romania are unique.

Easter is one of the most important celebrations of Christianity, commemorating the moment when Jesus resurrected. Romanians start preparing for this special day long before the day itself, and Postul Pastelui (Fasting) lasts for 48 days. During this Fasting period we pray and go to church, while some of us give up meat, eggs, or dairy products. It’s a ritual of purification for both the body and soul.

MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. FRIENDSHIP DAY

We were happy to be part of this Project4/4 for friends, in collaboration with the US Embassy and American Council here in Romania. 

Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others? (Martin Luther King Jr.)

With these words from Martin Luther King we embarked on this journey.

Children are and should be our most valuable treasure, as they are our future and our promise for a better life, they are our projection into the future.
